Today marks the start of a new design team term at the Ribbon Carousel and some exciting new changes to the way we do things around here!
Before I introduce to you the Fall 2012 Ribbon Carousel Crewmates, we need to say our heart felt goodbyes to some of our current Crewmates.
Behind the scenes, we have a wacky little family here at the Ribbon Carousel Crew and we are so sad to see them leave the nest. Thank you for all of your hard work and talent that you have shared with us. We will miss you! Farewell friends......and fare well!
OK, now we've got the sad stuff out of the way. Lets get to the happy news! Please let me introduce you to the Fall 2012 Ribbon Carousel Crewmates!
First up are the returning Crewmates
who have remained on board for another term!
Hi! I’m Amanda Coleman from Idaho. I have been married to my hubby, Rob, for 11 years and am a stay-at-home mom to a 6 year-old daughter and 8 year-old son. I delight in everything chocolate and can’t go a single day without my Coke Zero refill from the local gas station. I enjoy crafts of all types. I sew a little, crochet a little, and enjoy baking and cooking. I also love teaching. I used to be a high school teacher and a college biology professor.
Hello! My name is Amber Hight and I am so excited to be here on the Ribbon Carousel team! I have been stamping/scrapbooking since 2005. My mom sells Avon and I had bought a scrapbooking kit from the catalog on a whim. Turns out I loved scrapping and haven't ever turned back! While I do more stamping now than I do scrapping, I still enjoy a layout now and then, and most everything I create is loaded with ribbon and/or twine. I am so excited to be here and can't wait to make a bunch of new friends.
My name is Andrea Ewen and I've been married to my high school sweet heart for 17 years. We have two children together, ages 15 and 13. I live in New Jersey near the beautiful shore and work full time in a small pharmacy that is 2 blocks from the ocean. Crafting has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn't until 2002 that I found the art of paper crafting. I started my blog, EwenStyle, in 2010 and since then I have really concentrated on learning as much as I can and experimenting as much as possible. I really enjoy "paper manipulating" whether it be in the form of die cuts, border punches or flower making. I love to use lots of vintage and feminine items like ribbons, lace, pearls and flowers. I'm so exciting to be continuing on with the Ribbon Carousel team to share with you my love of all things crafty!
Hi, I'm Danielle Daws and I hate writing bios. I really do. Honestly, there's really nothing terribly interesting to say... I live in Tasmania, Australia with my husband and 5 year old daughter... and... that's it. Sometimes I make stuff, photograph it and put it on my blog...
(Kim here - Our beloved "Daws Dawg" was cranky when she wrote this)
Hi, my name is Els. I’m a Belgian papercrafter, mom and wife. I’ve always been a creative person with a passion for paper. I started making cards little over 3 years ago and was instantly hooked. Not so much later I also dove into scrapbooking and other projects. To say I’m addicted would be an understatement. I have a rather clean style, with a soft spot for ink splatters, layers and messy stitches. It’s a great honor to be here on the design team.
My name is Jenny Peterson. I started stamping about 4 years ago, and like most of you I went to a Stampin' Up event and was hooked:) I dabble in scrapbooking and quilting but love cards the most as I get pretty instant results. I guess that says a little about my patience! I am a wife and mom to three little boys (see why I have no patience left?). I am also a Registered Nurse, and work for a local college, teaching in various nursing programs primarily in a clinical setting. My job and home life can be very stressful and I find stamping relaxes me and brings me a lot of joy:) I have made some wonderful friends through blogging, and have had the privilege of working for some amazing companies, such as The Ribbon Carousel of course, There She Goes, The Cat's Pajamas, Kraftin' Kimmie, and Your Next Stamp! As well as having had the opportunity to guest design for My Favorite Things a few times!
My name is Kim O'Connell and I am Clinical Social Worker by day and a mad crafter by night.......and early mornings. I am professional chauffeur to my soccer playing 10 yo daughter and baseball playing 8 yo son and the wife of a husband who wonders how I turned into a "crafty nerd." I started stamping in 2009. I would describes my style as clean but not so simple and I LOVE to color with my copics! This is my 3rd term with the Ribbon Carousel and my 2nd term as the DT Coordinator (AKA "Herd Master" behind the scenes) of this motley crew whom affectionately refer to as "The Herd" of donkeys.
Hi there, Laurel here. I am married with 2 girls, teach grade one during the day and love to spend time in my craft room at night. I love to create cards, layout and altered projects - basically anything with paper! I have been fortunate to have had my work published, and be on wonderful design teams. Currently, along with the Ribbon Carousel, I am also on the Pebbles, Glue Dots and Momenta Design Teams. I love doing what I do and love the many friends I have made in this industry. I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges with the Ribbon Carousel and what you do with them!
Hi, I am Lindsay! I live in Northeast Ohio with my wonderful husband, four-year-old son. I adore stamps and paper, and will gravitate to my creative space any chance I can! I inherited the crafty gene from my father and love all things art, as well as an appreciation for handmade crafts, thanks to my talented mother! When I am not making things out of paper, I love to take walks, bike rides, and spend time with my little family.
I’m Lisa Somerville. I live in Illinois with my husband Jim and two boys (Jim 18 and Joe 17). I’m thrilled to be on the Ribbon Carousel Design Team. My style is pretty classic with a bit of shabby chic. I am beyond excited to be staying on for another term with the Ribbon Carousel Crew and to be working with such a talented and fun group of ladies! I don't think I can make a card without some sort of ribbon or twine so

Hello, I'm Tracy Valure and you can find me at Tracy's Stamping Corner (http://tracysstampingcorner.
blogspot.com. I live in Sunny South Florida! I have been happily married to my best friend for 13 years. I have two kiddos - Michael, 12, and Kara, 8. I have been stamping for about 12 years now. I dabble a little in scrapbooking as well and love to do both, but find the most pleasure in card making. I think because it is instant gratification!! I could spend hours in my craft room coloring, unfortunately I have this thing called a job which takes alot of my time! In my spare time, what little I have, I also love to read and SHOP (it's a sickness, I swear). My husband and I also do alot of traveling. So much that our friends and family actually pick relentlessly at us because of the amount we vacation! I'm a huge Facebook and Pinterest junkie, I love social networking. I am also quite the party animal! ha!ha! Hubby and I try to have a date night every other weekend, kid free! I swear that's what keeps us going!!! I am so grateful to be a part of this rowdie bunch of Donkeys here at the Ribbon Carousel.
Hi! I'm Valerie, also know as "ValTheRican." Originally from NJ, but currently stranded in Texas with my air force husband, and two little ones. I take up any craft that I possibly can, if it catches my attention. Right now I am sewing, and loving it! Making new things out of old things is one of my favorite things to do. I blog, tweet, Facebook, and pin, but have time for none of it! I hope to one day catch up on my scrapbooking. I try to meet as many people in person as I do on Facebook. I drink too much coffee, and eat too much chocolate. I'm also currently addicted to beautifying myself on pic monkey.com. Best of all, I'm not ashamed of any of it! Nice to "meet" you!
Hi, I'm Wendy Ramlakhan and I’m THRILLED to be returning for a third term with the Ribbon Carousel. I live in Orlando, Florida with my beautiful family and can honestly say that I'm living a dream come true, all thanks to my wonderfully supportive husband who is truly my biggest fan. I LOVE being a stay at home mom to our two beautiful children, Brooke (4 yrs. old) and Nathan (5 yrs old). They are my favorite people in the whole world and it’s an honor to be their mother. I've always had lots of different crafty hobbies, card making included but swore I'd never be a stamper. But that all changed 3 years ago while looking for ideas to create my daughters 1st birthday invitations. That's when I stumbled upon SplitCoast Stampers and discovered Copic's. Suddenly stamping went from something I would never do…to my true passion! I love the instant gratification of completing a card as well as the the reaction people have when you give them a handmade card.
And now I have the honor of introducing you to
the NEWBIE CREWMATES!
Hi there! I'm Candace. I was born and raised in South Mississippi, and I'm so proud to be a Southern girl! My husband, Andrew, and I are expecting our first child next year, and we are very excited! I work as a junior high school English teacher. When I'm not in my stamp room, I love trying out new recipes in the kitchen, reading, shopping, and spending time with my family. I started scrapbooking in 2008 and discovered a love for card-making soon after. Stamping is a big part of my life. It not only gives me a hobby, but I made some awesome friends and had amazing opportunities because of it. I'm so happy to be a part of the Ribbon Carousel Challenge Team and to share my creations with you!
I am a Correctional Officer by night and a stamper by day. I am married and have to kiddos, Christopher 21 & Hailey 17. My free time is spent doing whatever the kids dictate I do, but that is quickly coming to an end. I am hoping that one gets a good job and moves out and the other gets into College. THEN... Yeah I'm hittin' the road to go to a CHA, see friends etc... lol
Hi there! My name is Michele and I am so excited to be joining the Ribbon Carousel DT. Like most people I was introduced to cardmaking in 2005 by attending an SU! party with my husband no less. I had no idea what I was getting myself into! I was hooked and have been crafting ever since. I have expanded my interests and also learned how to sew and love to alter items. I am a HS teacher by day and during the late hours of the night, I love crawling into my crafting space and decompress for the day by creating something! I've been married for six years and have an adorable little girl who loves to make cards with me too. On occasion you will see a picture or two of her on my blog. I'm looking forward to all the fun that's to come with being on the RCDT!
I'm from Robbinsville, NJ......currently living in India for hubby's work project. I've been married to wonderful husband for 15 years and together we've two adorable girls of age 11 and 7. I've been paper crafting for three years now. I'm a card maker, a stamp addict and a budding scrapbooker. I create in variety of styles. My personal favorite is CAS stamped cards. I like to try new techniques and trends for my creations. I have been so fortunate to have my creations published in several papercrafting magazines and have designed for some wonderful companies.
Hi, my name is Tangii, I live in sunny Southern California and I am addicted to all things crafty and handmade! I have been paper crafting for a handful of years, but have recently gotten back to another love... quilting and sewing up pretty things! I have a MAJOR addiction to ribbons J and use them in everything from cards, sewing projects, decorating home made jam and anything else I can attach it to!! My current ribbon obsessions are Crushed, Silk and Seam Binding (oh yeah, and twine!!). Give me a Latte and let me craft and I am a happy girl!
