Good News! Good News!

We are thrilled to announce that we've added another Designer
to the Ribbon Carousel Crew!

She is crazy talented and just plain crazy so she will fit right in!
She was recently featured as a Ribbon Carousel Shining Star!

Please welcome...................

Hi everyone!  My name is Peggy and, I am married to my best friend and biggest supporter and we have 3 great boys ages 12, 13 and 16! They are my biggest fans and critics and always let me know what they really think of my cards good or bad!  I have been stamping for about 6 years now and love all the wonderful people I have met in real life and online!  I am beyond excited to be joining the Ribbon Carousel Crew and to be working with such a talented and fun group of ladies!  I don't think I can make a card without some sort of ribbon or twine so this is heaven!

Peggy is currently a designer for the Greeting Farm, Your Next Stamp, and Drunken Stampers Challenges.  We are so happy that she is willing to share her time and talents with the Ribbon Carousel as well!

Please welcome Peggy to the Crew!

Using Ribbon in a Different Way with Savannah O'Gwynn

Hello, friends:}

Savannah O'Gwynn here today sharing how to use ribbon in a different way!

Some of you know that I'm addicted to RIBBON! I love my chevron twill ribbon...I love my vintage seam binding...but I also love the burlap twines! There are so many beautiful ribbons available HERE from the Ribbon Carousel

Lately I've noticed that my gloves (various kinds--but all of them) needed some help! We use gloves when "canning" {read more about it HERE}. My gloves were always getting lost at the bottom of my bike basket. So I stitched on some cotton twill ribbon to the outsides so they could hang from my handles! LOVE!
Instructions
1. Measure out ribbon {mine were about 12 inches long}
2. Fold over ribbon and pin to outside of gloves.
3. Use a regular stitch to attach ribbon into place. **You can also use a zigzag stitch.

I also attached some ribbon to my shower gloves!

Then I decided to get a bit fancy!

I noticed that my "cleaning gloves" needed some ribbon. I hardly ever clean...so I thought adding some ruffled ribbon at the top would motivate me!

Here's how I created these ruffled ribbon cleaning gloves:)

Supplies needed: gloves, ribbon (I used some 7/8" solid/ivory checkered ribbon), paper piercing tool, pins, sewing machine, thread

Then I set up my sewing machine.
I created my ruffled ribbon first.
Next, add your ruffled ribbons around the top of the gloves. **I had to remove my sewing machine shelf in order to stitch such a small area.

And there you have it! Simple and sooooo pretty!
I have to say that the jury is still out on how much these ruffled ribbon gloves motivate me....I'm sure I'll have to clean someday....but not today:)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my tutorial! Be blessed;)

Good News and Bad News

So, I've got some good news and some bad news.
Which shall I deliver first?

Lets get the bad news out of the way.

Our talented Crewmate Angela Thomas has decided to resign from the design team.  She is super busy now that she has been welcomed in the dirt pile.  That's right.  She's one of the Splitcoast Stampers Dirty Dozen.  We are oh-so-proud of her and wish her nothing but the best.  Thank you, Angela, for all your hard work and for all of the inspiration that you have provided to us!  We will miss you, Donkey!

*** Sniffle, sniffle ***

Now, on a brighter note......I have a special announcement!

Please welcome our newest addition to the Ribbon Carousel Crewmates

Hello, I'm Tracy Valure and you can find me at Tracy's Stamping Corner (http://tracysstampingcorner.blogspot.com. I live in Sunny South Florida!  I have been happily married to my best friend for 13 years. I have two fabulous children - Michael, 12, and Kara, 7.  My mother-in-law introduced me to scrapbooking right after getting married. We started stamping a few years after, so I have been stamping now for about 10 years. I love to do both, but find the most pleasure in card making. I think because it is instant gratification!!  I work full time. In my spare time, what little I have, I love to read and SHOP! My husband and I also do alot of traveling. My friends and family actually pick relentlessly at me because of the amount we vacation! I'm a huge facebook junkie, I love social networking. I am also quite the party animal! ha! Hubby and I try to have a date night every other weekend, kid free!  I swear that's what keeps us going!!!  I am so grateful to join the Ribbon Carousel Team!!

Please welcome the
outrageously talented Tracy to the Crew!
